Welcome back to the Game Theory Weekly Update, now aptly named Sweetie Sundae after me, 0xSweetie! On Sundays!

BRUTAL NETWORK: What We Did and What Went Well

I’m merging these two sections because they just mesh so well together. I’ve worked a lot more on the game this week so we have some content to show for it. I’ve gotten Sprint 2 finished. Read the previous two weekly updates to find out what was in Sprint 2. The grappling hook and the dashing mechanic combined with the movement were really fun to make and playtest! The artist has also finished the first character art! More on that later. The game feels great to play already! We don’t even have enemies in the game yet and it’s still pretty fun for minutes at a time.

BRUTAL NETWORK: What Didn’t Go Well

I was held up in a bunch of meetings and stuff for the protocol, despite not doing much programming work for it. Hence why this weekly update was later than usual, I got wrapped up in a bunch of meetings, website work, and community engagement.

BRUTAL NETWORK: How We Can Improve

I should be sterner about my time. Sometimes, I lose track of time and our meetings run way too long.

BRUTAL NETWORK: What is Next

Sprint 3 is on the way! I have A LOT to do for this sprint, and I can’t possibly fit them all here. But in general, I am fixing up some bugs, improving upon existing code, and adding enemies and a prototype level to the game.

GAME THEORY: What We Did and What Went Well

I brought the team onto the Sprint system, allowing us to become overall better organized. We also keep growing and building! We found two developers to work on separate projects and are excited about what’s to come. I keep reiterating this, but it is true: Our growth is still exponential and we love and thank our community for this wonderful gift. The Gen 1 NFTs were released! It added features that are better for the life of the protocol and has a higher supply than Gen 0. They will also always be mintable to the public.

GAME THEORY: What Didn’t Go Well

Reiterating what was stated in the Brutal Network section, a lot of my time was sapped by the protocol even though I wasn’t supposed to be working as much on it. But I’m super grateful and glad to help with it whenever. After all, the protocol is what has taken us this far!

GAME THEORY: How We Can Improve

As always, we can continue to improve on our communication, even if most things went well. There are a few misunderstandings and the protocol is very complex, so educating our moderators and the community is very important and key to our success. We’ll always keep striving for greater.

GAME THEORY: What is Next

The governance token is on the way! The other devs are also working on the NFT marketplace and the lottery system now. After that, we’ve got the arcade and speculative market on our plates. So much to deliver! The governance token should be coming in 1–2 weeks. The NFT marketplace and lottery system depend on the other devs, but they estimate it will take about 2–3 weeks. Exciting stuff!

Surprise!

You didn’t think I’d let you go without showing you what we’re cooking up, right? Here is a video of the game prototype, and an image of the artwork:
